Care and maintenance
This section aims to help enthusiasts who already own a pair of racing skates and those people who want a pair. Below are a number of warnings and some advice for the correct use and maintenance of your skates. First and foremost, it is important to remember that products will sometimes get damaged if parts are not assembled or tightened correctly. Always check the skates are secured before every use. Skating shoes should have perfectly flat mounting blocks. This is extremely important in order to ensure proper clamping and prevent breakages especially on the rear mounting deck of the frame. To fasten the shoe to the frame, it is advisable to use flanged-head screws or countersunk-head screws together with conical washers which guarantee safe, efficient clamping. Do not use indented screws and washers as they could damage the frame. If shoe get wet, let them dry in the shade, out of direct sunlight. The wheels must be assembled and disassembled always in clean surrounding. After skating on wet surfaces, it is necessary to remove completely any dirt from the frames, possibly with running water, especially into the hexagonal cavity and around the thread of the axles so as to prevent stripping. Use the special wrench provided to screw or unscrew axles. Always make sure the wrench is well inserted into the hexagonal cavity. Do not tighten the axles too much, as this may cause stripping. Do not use any kind of adhesive to try to block the axles more. Never assemble the wheel without spacer. When ignored the axle and frame might be damaged and wheel get locked. Attention must be paid each time the bearings are assembled or disassembled from the wheels. If this is done incorrectly, it may cause problems and even damage to the wheels, frames and bearings themselves. Use a cleaning lotion or simply water and soap to remove the dirt from the frame. Use solvents when cleaning the bearings. After cleaning the bearings should be always lubrificated with a small amount of fluid lubrificant. Clean the bearings immediately after skating in the rain. Avoid using solvents to clean the wheels. Use only water and soap. For servicing make use of identical replacement parts, only. Store your skates in a clean, dry and covered place. Remember all racing skates should be used only for speed and recreational (not for jumping, ramps or stairs).
